Sex Work

I’ve always felt that I have had a great bond and relationship with the sex industry. Porn stars, directors, sex phone operators, Madames and Dominatrixes are all friends close to my heart. Being an ex-mistress myself I remember the sense of family we all shared.

Lately I’ve come across some amazing blogs written by porn stars. Not completely sexually based and all available for public consumption. I will have to add these to our blog role here within the next few days.

One thing that I find amazing is once you dig into this world you see that this too is very serious art. Directing porn is rarely a walk in the park if you’re trying to actually make something quality. Straight and gay alike have plenty of people blogging that are focused on more than getting off. One of my favorite reads is Brent Corrigan. His story fascinates me and I think he is turning into one of the more deeper players in the adult industry. I like someone with a story and his is very interesting. Seeing his ambition and knowing where he wants to go with his career, I think he’ll be one of the few from this generation that will be able to write a Jenna Jameson sized autobiography some day.

There’s a lot more to the adult industry and the stories go beyond sorted tragic tales. There’s a life after the rough time and if you can live through it to formulate yourself into a serious professional, you should be respected. Picture it as the life of Britney Spears. If Britney lives passed this odd and seemingly very dangerous time in her life, she will become a power house because she made it, broke down and then made it again. That template is what I compare every good artist with. There’s one thing to be said if you make it. There’s another to be said when you lose your marbles from all the things you did while trying to make it. If you live passed that and become a solid hard working artist, then you have my respect and ultimate pat on the head.
